Hey Eddie, yes, I am now trying out some Vibrams. I really like them for general walking in but takinga while to condition for running as you'll see below.
I also recommend you actually try because they need to fit specifically, though you could order several sizes and return what doesn't fit...perhaps more hassel.
27/04/10
2k jog in Vibrams Felt okay, but then calfs were really achy. But not heel striking like an elephant
30/04/10
Body seems to ache and creek more when I train less, so just had to do something today, despite calfs still being sore and back tight for no reason.
Dead Hang Pull ups x 10 Push ups x 10 Squats x 10
2 Rounds
Band assisted C2B x 5 – 3RDs
Clean x 1 Hang power clean x 4
50,60,65,60,60
Then WOD of:
5 Rounds Back squat 80kg x 5 Burpees x 10
Time 8.49
Did this in Vibrams, felt quite good actually. I would never do this without safety supports on the cage. Real gasser, didn’t want to get under the bar on the final round. The squatting was fine, just very heavy on the lungs. Enjoyed it in hind sight. Calfs still sore but back feel better
Oh and 8000 steps on the pedometer.

03/05/10
Standing Press x 5

Failed on 3rd for 60. Would have been a pb...next time.

Right, crazy week. Bit burnt out and ill but almost recovered I think. Just lack of sleep.
Strength is down, in fact everything feels down. Need to rebuild again, but here's what's been going down
5th of March 30 double unders - 30 snatch grip deadlift 40kgs 30 double unders - 30 hang power snatch 30 double unders - 30 OHS
10.42.
Great WOD, even if I say so myself.
9th March 15 minutes cap
Annie 50, 40...10 double unders sit ups (6.14)
in remaining time
10 box jumps 10 knees to elbows
er...can't remember 5 rounds I think.
16th March Lunch time WOD at work in deserted car park
Run 1 mile warm up
Then
5 Rounds 10 x 30" box jumps onto some concrete barrier 100m sprint
Time 8.08
Then:
25 burpees 25 squat jumps 25 squat thrusts 25 push ups Time 5.13
17th MarchGames WOD 11.1
AMRAP 10 minutes 30 double unders 15 x 35kgs powwrsnatch
4 Rounds 4 DU
Great WOD
Friday 18th March:
Deadlift: 100x5 120x5 130x3 140x1
Ring dips
3x10 strict
Palm turn out at top and shoulders to rings
Then:
9 x squat cleans 60 kgs 15 push ups
4 rounds, was meant to be 5 but remembered I was supposed to pick up daughter from school...ooops.
Was over 10 minutes though for sure...I think it was about 13 minutes.
Sunday 20th Olyworkshop
Monday.
Wrecked, was supposed to be a holday, spent it sleeping, woke up for a couple of hours, slept more, wasted day.
Recovered by Thursday Lunch time work WOD
10 rounds - with 10kg vest 100m run 10 burpees
Time15.30 That ruined a beautiful day
Saturday Wrecked again, obviously not recovered. No d**n water at box helped raise my cortisol to new levels. Wrecked.
Wednesday, two consecutive nights of 7 hrs sleep, that was good.
30th March Wednesday
All day in meeting with crap food, should have brought my own lunch. Left late, got to box late, decided to do:
Games WOD 2 AMRAP 15 minutes
9 Deadlifts @ 70kgs 12 hand release push ups 15 24"box jumps
7 rounds 9 deadlifts. PAH
As you can see, lack of strength work, lack of training, but more regular then the last 6 months, and lunch time WODs is going to help with conditioning.
Need to build squat back (stuck at 3x110kg last Saturday and deadlift too...stuck at 140kgs Over head okay, PJ 90Kg a few weeks ago, snatch has gone walk abouts, but summer is here and the box is pumping!!!
