Cheers mate - yep, burpee-pullups. Brutal little f*ckers. 1.7.08 - 11:30am (punishment session) Thought I'd work on some strength stuff to try and forget about this morning: Clean-front squat-jerk 50kg 55kg 60kg 65kg 67.7kg - PB 70kg - PB, and 100% BW Power clean 72.5kg 75kg 77.5kg 80kg Notes: finally got my BW over my f*cking head! Been chasing that one for a while. Power clean is also a PB, but never really trained those like this before.

Cheers gents - certainly helped me get over the morning, 2.7.08 Actually set foot in a gym for the first time in over a month, only to discover it was OAP morning (they even had a defibrillator out! ;D ). Thought I'd better be in and out fast, so time to have another go at "Jackie:" 1000m row 50 thrusters @ 20kg 30 pullups 9:47 Notes: PB - overall time was 62 seconds faster than last time (exactly 3 months ago), even though the row was 3:54, slower than last time. Thrusters done in 15, 15, 10, 10. Pullups were 10, 5, 5, 5, 5, and had as much of a kip as I could considering I was doing it on a Smith machine with a bar placed so that every time I tried to put my head between my arms at the bottom I risked knocking myself out! Pleasingly my shoulder didn't grumble at all at the kips. Originally I planned to do the extended version described here, but gym was busy and once I'd finished the 30 pullups all the rowers were occupied. Next time...

3.7.08 Into the shed of hell this morning for this "simple" routine: 15 deadlifts @ 60kg 15 pushups 10 rounds 14:58 Notes: Yet another routine I tried to talk myself out of: "My quads are sore from the last 2 days, I'll rest today," "I'm not that heavy, I'll reduce the weight," "I'll do it later," that type of thing. I actually tried to scale it back to 50kg DLs but that felt far too light, so went for the full monty, and very glad I did. Did all 10 sets of pushups unbroken; wish I could say the same for the DLs - only sets 1, 2 & 10 were unbroken. Glad to get under 15 minutes. Video here. For those of you who don't know what I look like, that's not me!

Nice one buddy, I thought i'd done this but misread and only did 10 sets of 10 Deadlifts- doh! Even that was a killer so this must have been a treat!

Cheers mate, good little routine that. 4.7.08 Rest day - mucked about on the scaffolding we've got up at the moment, doing ring stuff, and kipping pullups. Got a PB set of 25 kipping pullups. 5.7.08 In the shed this morning for a routine I found among the CF videos: 5 overhead squats @ 35kg (50% BW) 5 pullups @ 15kg AMRAP in 20 minutes - 11 rounds plus 2 O/H squats. Notes: version I saw was O/H squats @ BW and 50-pound pullups. One day...

6.7.08 Short on time this morning, so a quick blast today in the form of tuck jump "Annie" - "Trannie?" 50-40-30-20-10 Tuck jumps Situps 6:52 Notes: that felt fast as I did it, and this time takes 1m06s off my previous PB. All sets of tuck jumps were unbroken, and only the 40 situps needed a brief rest. Good wakeup, that.

6.7.08 - 4pm Felt a bit stagnant sitting about watching the tennis (although it's a pretty decent match), so did this: 50 burpees for time, touching a 1-foot target on each jump 2:56 - improves by my last go at this by 12 seconds

Cheers mate - great final, wasn't it?
7.7.08 "Helen in a shed:" Run 400m (treadmill) 21 KB swings @ 24kg 12 pullups 3 rounds for time 10:28
Notes: Slower than my PB by 25 seconds, but first time I've done the run on a treadmill rather than my self-measured-and-probably-about-350m course. Still a kick-arse workout that one...
Going away this lunchtime until Friday - will be taking one KB with me, and will do a bit of training, but not a great deal. See you all when I get back. Train hard!
