WOD 11.5 was a killer! I had a bash at it today at open gym and managed to get just short of four rounds - it was my grip on the toes to bar that held me back for sure! And I will admit the the 45kg power clean was a little heavy for me, but I got four rounds of those and four rounds of toes to bar - the wall ball was so easy in terms of weigh but by the time I had finished toes to bar my forearms were so pumped that it made it an unecessary struggle to do those wall balls! Thoroughly enjoyed my 20 minutes of pain and suffering though - wish I could have done more rounds, but I wil just have to keep training hard to get my butt in gear for the next hellacious wod that comes my way

and then there was 11.6 - it was, indeed hideous. BUT, with that said, I am super excited because I managed, after about four minutes of pain, to FINALLY get chest to bar pullups. I had been 'this close' all week and I didn't think I was going to be able to get them and then, bam! I did. It was awesome. Allowed me to get the six thrusters in to boost my score up just that little bit extra. And THEN...to top the afternoon off, I managed a seriously awesome PB....102.5kg ONE HANDED deadlift!!! that is currently my two-handed PB!! WOOHOOO!! Looking forward to the Strongman stuff now

Let's see - some catching up to do now.
Wednesday was a fun session: 1 minute stations of SDHP (37.5kg), Box jump, push press (25kg), wall ball (7kg), and double unders. One minute rest in between each set of five stations, five times through.
This was awesome and hellacious all at the same time. Really enjoyed it actually. I think I got something like 89 reps for round one, 98, 102, 109 and then 99 (stupid jump rope kept getting stuck inbetween the toes of my five fingers).
Cross Box tonight and then a weekend at the box! woohoo!!

Boxing was killer on Friday! Lots of great combos to work on and some side-stepping/blocking. A good 40 minutes of boxing fun and then Alex threw in a 'mini wod' HA! not so mini really, but it was great - totally kicked my butt and my cheeks were sore the next day 50 doubles, 50 walking lunges, 50 situps, 40 doubles, 40 lunges, 40 situps, etc down to 10 (for time of course). I did it in 13.07 which felt pretty good - and I must admit, I did singles so had to triple the number. Im still a little scared of those d**n double unders I think - but then I though, 'screw this, I have to work on doubles' so after the session was over I tried to do some doubles and strung 35 together in one go! It was awesome - I am officially only ever doing double unders from now on

Strongman Saturday I am getting really exctied for the UKSPS comp in June I hope I get a place - going to be next to my computer as soon as they release the entry forms! Anyway, Saturday was some ground to overhead tekkers and then a wod. Five stations: sandbags, kegs, barbell, hand weights and log. We spent about an hour playing around with technique and weight on each station and then did the mini wod which was one minute at each station, amrap, one minute off in between each station (ground to overhead with each item). I accumulated 61 reps all together (which was pretty good considering I was using the 50kg keg!). Speaking of the keg - I was quite chuffed to be able to get that blasted thing up and onto my shoulder on my third attempt! I am seriously liking this stuff

A couple of weeks ago you were struggling to get a 50kg bar over head. Now you're repping it out with a 50kg keg. Shows all your hard work is doing something.

Sunday Tekkers: Sunday was a slightly more civilised training session - I was still a bit sore from Saturday and those darned walking lunges on Friday so I just played around with some skills work: ring work, kipping and skipping. I whipped the crap out of my arm so gave up on the skipping eventually but got some really good ring work in and then topped it off with some kipping coaching from Alex which was super helpful! I feel like I cold really get the hang of it now

Monday Madness: The box was heaving last night! Lots of newbies doing their onramp which is great - it did mean that the box was a bit cramped but we all set up our little stations ready to tackle the hellacious filthy set of fifties: 50 doubles 50 squats 50 situps 50 swings 50 pullups 50 burpees 800 m run I was aiming for sub-20min and JUST made it - 19:57 This was a killer - super sweaty and awesome. I am quite chuffed to say that I did all the pullups unassisted too - first time EVER

Wednesday: Push press 5X5 @ 40kg WOD: run 400m 21 swings 12 pullups 3 rounds This took me longer than I would have liked because I have started only doing kipping pullups - no more assisted ones for me! 13.11 - not too bad considering the pullups took me ages
