Started with squat technique again. Now working to higher reps and increasing speed of hips. Worked on the kb swing again and then grouped 10 squats and 5 swings x 3 rounds to teach different action from the ground.
We then did a lot of work on box jumps. Started small and increase the box size when everyone was through.
I then wanted to teach the children landing technique from a jump or high drop. This was also included to get the children used to heights. We worked on the roll out of the landing in the event that the children were leaning to far forward. This allows them to roll out of any fall and get on their feet ready to run or continue. Started with small box and worked up to around 5 foot box. I and the other coaches were really impressed with the bravery and technique shown in this drill. By starting small and building up the children got used to each height without being scared.
We finished with a small circuit of sprint, resisted runs, squats and swings.
Well done guys!
