Monday - Chelsea
Awesome pre-games WOD!
Chelsea: 5 pullups, 10 pushups, 15 squats - each set done in a minute for 30 consecutive minutes. SO, that means if you finish all three exercises in 35 seconds, you have 25 seconds rest before you have to do it again - over and over again for thirty sets.
This was HARD but AMAZING. I honestly thought that I wouldn't be able to finish it when Paul said we were only on our 11th set, but then all of a sudden we were on set 25 and I thought, 'yeah, get in there, I can rip this apart' - and I really feel like I did. I did the full 30 rounds, finished most of my sets in about 30 seconds so that gave me a 30 second rest in between each set, and I pushed myself as hard as I physically could on the last round. I felt amazing afterwards, a little bit like I was gonna puke, but then it wouldn't be Cross fit otherwise! (Still waiting for my pukey the clown t-shirt to come in the post!) I kept up with the two toughest guys at the session and felt like I really pushed myself hard. I also didn't use bands for the pullups - I just stood on a really small stool and gave myself a little jump to start myself off. I feel like this was a better way to practice my pullups as I was getting the full negative pullup motion and body weight resistance, whereas with the band I wasn't even lowering my entire bodyweight. I even had enough leftover to do 15 kips after the WOD was over!
Bring on the games qualifier tomorrow!!! WOOOT!!!!

Wednesday - Game Day
Well, today was my day to have a play with some of the moves for the first Games WOD - double unders are NOT my favourite thing yet, but I did manage to finally get a string of them together yesterday, so I am more confident that I won't make a pig's ear of that tonight when I do the WOD proper. I was pleasantly surprised to see the weight for the power snatch was 'only' 25kg - then I started doing them and realised that it's gonna get heavy fast. I reckon I can get at least five rounds in - looking at the leader board the top women are doing seven! If I can manage five or more I'll be chuffed, considering I've only been training since the end of January! I'm trying to fuel well today and then I'll just have to rip myself to shreds getting it done tonight. I can do it!

Games WOD - this was TOUGH! I knew it was going to challenge me as I am NOT great at double unders yet and I have really only been at the box when we have been practicing either deadlift, squats or presses of some kind - so this was new to me and a real challenge. I was realy chuffed to get a full three rounds in (though in my heart of hearts I was hoping, however naievely, that I might get five). I pushed myself really hard and was absolutely shattered afterwards, so what more can you ask for! I am really looking forward to the next WOD and hope that it has some deadlifting in it Looking forward to Cross Boxing tonight, not that my arms are working particularly well today, but it is such a great session to go to, I just couldn't miss it! AND of course there is the Olympic lifting seminar on Sunday!!! Woohoo!! GREAT birthday week
