Another beast of a WOD - 5 rounds for time of: 400m run, 20 thrusters (that's 100 thrusters!!) 20.44 - I was so knackered from Eva my legs were barely keeping up with me on the run and the thrusters were absolute h e l l BUT I still think I did pretty well! I was doing the same thruster weight as the guys as well - bring it!!

Friday: I got to pair up with Lee for boxing tonight so did not get a chance to 'take it easy' after a couple of hard days of WODing! It was a great session, but I am defintely spent now.

Strongman Saturday:
A brief session today as I had nothing left to give after the last few day's training: tyre flipping - 3 rounds of 6 flips, sprint back to start, walk back to tyre. 2.22 seconds.

Wednesday:
Another AWESOME team WOD - in teams of 3...
200 double unders 200 pullups 200 ring pressups 200 box jumps 200 toes to bar 200 doubles
This was TOUGH on the old hands! I was really pleased with myself - I put in maximum effort and did all the pullups, kept a steady pace on the ring pushups, found the box jumps pretty easy (sets of 20 and 30) and then managed to get through the toes to bar (albeit only 5 at a time).
We rocked it!

haha...sorry Mister C!!! I have totally neglected my posting this summer. I have so much to catch up on it's not worth backtracking too much, SO: Saturday - Suicide Saturday - compliments of Andy 2 rounds for time of: 70 deadlifts, backsquats, chest to overhead and 35 pullulps - all weights were 35kg. I tell you what - round one wasn't so bad, but round two nearly killed me. it was awesome.

UK SPS Finals Weekend: This was MENTAL and AWESOME. Upon reflection, I am pretty happy with how my first USSPS season went; considering I've never done strongman stuff before The final consisted of FIVE events: 1. Sandbag hill 'sprints' - the joke here of course is that there was NO sprinting to be had. We had to shift 10 20kg (or were they 25kg?) sandbags from the bottom of a hill (again, this makes it sound cute and small, it was practically vertical) and we had 15 minutes to do it. I managed to get nine bags in 15 minutes and never felt so completely wasted after a wod as I did when that whistle blew. I couldn't walk for a few minutes! It was my best event of the day; I took first! 2. Ground to overhead - as quickly as possible you had to lift five objects from the ground to overhead: a 25kg sandbag, 32kg kettlebell, 35kg sandbag, 45/50kg log and then some crazy massive chain link from a boat or train which probably weighed about 60kg. I got stuck on the d**n log..but so did the other competators in my weight category, so it wasn't a complete loss, just annoying. 3. The Conan's Wheel - a totally new element for me; I had never even seen one before so this was going to be interesting. I practiced with just the wheel and thought it was heavy..and then they went ahead and added 60kg to it!!! bloody hell. Needless to say, this was the event that really tripped me up - I only got 1 1/3 rotations, very disappointing, but somethign to work on for next year! 4. Medley - LOVED this one You had to drag or flip a steel girder from point A to point B, then run back to point A, pick up and carry a giant crazy chain link thing to point B, back to point A for a drag - now, this drag was a giant rusty steel bucket that must have weighed about 180-200kg! Needless to say, this was tough to shift and I ended up tearing the crap out of my thumbs of all things - still suffering now as they are a beast to try to heal! 5. Deadlift hold - another wicked event. 180kg deadlift hold on a rig that looks like the prowler. I held it for just under a minute and a half And then we had a three hour drive home where I sat in the car trying not to sit on all the bruises I had or cramp up too badly. It was an AWESOME DAY.
